Hello Tracey and Sue!
I hope you’re both well. My new little baby bird travelled safe and well to London and seems to have settled in very quickly. He loves his cage and has been hovering/flying about a little as well – he loves hugs and I’m enjoying spending time with him (the kitchen smells of stewed pulses already). Thank you so much for raising him and doing such a good job of it. I have not named him yet but I’ll figure it out soon enough when his personality comes out more.

HI BOTH, I BOUGHT 2 LITTLE BABY COCKATIELS FROM YOU LAST WEEK. I NAMED THEM GHOST AND CASPIAN. THEY BOTH SEEMED TO REALLY ENJOY THE 2 HOUR JOURNEY HOME, AND WE GOT THEM OUT TO PLAY AS SOON AS WE GOT HOME. WE CANT BELIEVE HOW TAME THEY BOTH ARE. YOU HAVE DONE AN AMAZING JOB CARING FOR THEM AND I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU TO ANYONE. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THEIR FOOD. I CANT FIND PULSES FOOD ANYWHERE. IVE BEEN TO EVERY SHOP IN TOWN, BUT THEY SAY THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT. AM I SAYING THE WRONG THING OR IS IT CALLED SOMETHING ELSE. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KEEP THEM ON THE SAME FOOD, IF I CANT FIND IT, WOULD IT BE OK TO CHANGE THEIT DIET? IS COCKATIEL SEED SUITABLE AS THEIR MAIN DIET (WITH FRUIT & VEG) IF I DO CHANGE THEIR DIET, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DO IT.? I ONLY HAVE ABOUT A WEEKS SUPPLY OF PULSES LEFT, CAN YOU HELP

Hi both,
we bought 2 lovebirds from you last August and said we would give you an update on how they are doing. sorry it has taken a while we have been so busy with university and our feathered friends. we called them Jack & Jim. they are both very friendly tame little pocket parrots . we get them out every day. they have their cuddles an kisses and love to come out to play 'millet relay'. they run to the far end of the back of the sofa pick up a piece of paper and when we call them they come running back to us with the paper to get their millet. they will do anything for millet! they cant get enough of it.we bought them a snuggle sack and as soon as we put it in they jumped inside. they are constantly popping in and out of it to sleep, it is their favouite thing in the cage!
we have also still been feeding them what you told us. we cook the pulses (we now get the versele laga parrot dinner) then freeze them in portion size bags. then we put a teaspoon of egg food and a teaspoon of seed (Vitakraft nature dinner -lovebirds), strawberry biscuits, garlic sticks, vegetables and dried fruit and mix it all together with the powder multivitamin. they also love eating their cuttlebones. they eat allsorts and look forward to eating it so much that they get sticky beaks and beards!
they have been moulting at the moment as we are finding lots of feathers. they also seem to be getting brighter colours. they are also getting alot more irritable and naughty so have been having to use there dungeon more often. if they are being naughty beaks we put them in the dungeon for a few minutes and when they come out they cuddle up acting all friendly. they have been moulting for 3-4 weeks now. they also get really naughty spells for about a week or so then they go back to normal. how long does it last?
they are also naughty little pickers and love picking at ears, teeth and eyelids. sometimes they can nibble too hard.we have tried saying 'no' and putting them in the dungeon but they still like pinching skin. what is the best thing to do?
we dont know how we lived without our pocket parrots! we have attached some photos of them.

Hi Tracy-Ann & Sue
Just A quick note to let you know that as soon as I ot home he stepped up on my hand with the command step up, he completly changed from how he was in the shop, he was sat on my hand arm shoulder for hours well i was sorting things out, he is not worried about the dogs. He went I for a little food and drink, not very much butsome.
I opend his cage door again and put my hand in with a clear step up no growling or anything and out he came again, he has just gone back in his cage and has started talking (Hello Pretty Girl) I will now have to get him to say hello pretty boy.
Thanks he is great I was a little wary when i was in the shop as he was not as friendly as i thounght a hand reared would be as he was not as friendly as my grey when I got him but wow what a difference when I got him home out of the shop enviroment.
If you need me to tell anyone please do not hesitate in getting them to ask me.
One very happy parrot owner and 2 very happy parrots.
Thanks
Marcus

Hi Tracy-Ann & Sue
Just wanted to let you know our baby grey, now known as 'Ollie' is settling in really well. He was as good as gold on the journey home. Saturday night he cuddled up on me and went to sleep! He is so lovely. He's eating well and yes I can get all the food from our pet shop in Bromyard. They have ordered for me.
He loves to come out of the cage and play, and gives loads of kisses! Thank you so much for a super baby. I will keep you informed and will get some photos done. Please let me know when you do have some of the rope perches in.
Hope you are all well

Hey Tracy & Sue,
Thank you very much for the cockatiel. It is beautiful. I am so happy. I think it was a bit tired today after the long journey it had today. I came straight to me when I opened the cage.
I played with it for a couple of hours, she seemed happy but it only drank water today it did not have any thing to eat. I am hoping whe it wakes up tomorrow it will start eating normally. I will keep you updated on how its doing and i will send some pictures to you by this weekend.
Thanks Regards Rahul.

Hiya Both
I am just writing to say a big thank you for everything. My friend is over the moon and you will be receiving an email from him shortly on how grateful he is.
He was shocked at the difference between this cockatiel and the 'so called' hand reared one he bought from the other shop. He has already taken him/her out of the cage and played with him/her (not sure what it is lol) and just cannot believe it.
You're birds really are exquisite and I don't know how you do it, but it's magical how friendly and tamed they are, really wish there were more people like you around!!
So once again thank you for all that and will be in touch :)
Love and best wishes

Hi Tracy-Ann & Sue
I got my little blue boy from you a year ago on the 1st October so I thought it was time to give you an update. Thank you so much for organising everything. His name is now Jazz. He has grown into such a character, he's very healthy and charismatic. He says "up" when I pick him up (or sometimes if he's telling me he wants to be picked up!) and sometimes he sits on his perch saying "Jazz, somersault Jazz" because that's one of the tricks he's learnt! He comes everywhere with me, he sits on my shoulder or on my laptop on the train and I'm working on bringing him to France with me! He loves having a shower with me, and all my friends love him. He actually gets on incredibly well with my boyfriend, in fact he is a man's parrot (but he still likes me best!). Thank you for looking after him so well before I bought him, he was hand tame and happy to sit with me in no time at all.
Thanks again, I love him to bits.

Dear Tracy-Ann & Sue
Heres just a few pictures of our boy Basil.
He is such a wonderful addition to the family. He gets on great with all members of the family including the kids and the dog.
He hangs off of our dog Lucy's collar and follows her everywhere.
Everyone adores him.
He is still eating like no tomorrow and has already said hello 6 times and we nearly fell off our chairs the first time he started to talk.
He poops on command and flies from the chair to the person who calls him.
Basil has come on leaps and bounds in such a short time and we can't wait to see what he will do next. He loves the bath and
being sprayed. He has also started to wave on command too.
Thank you so much for rearing such a little treasure. We feel without the great start in life from you two he would not be doing as well as he is. We feel very blessed and very proud to have him.
We will keep you updated on him as he grows.
Speak to you soon
Love Always

Morning Tracy-Ann & Sue
Just to let you know that Lilly has settled in really well and Merlin
absolutely loves her. As soon as he heard her, he was calling to her and
climbing around his cage to get a good look at her. We got in about 6.30
so it was a long drive. We let her rest for a couple of hours and then
let Merlin out of his cage and he flew imeadiately to her cage and they
were 'talking through the bars and 'beaking' each other. He then started
regurgitating food for her and she did the same. We then let them both
out and he preened her all over and loved her and she was preening him.
He seemed so contented for the affection of another bird. Every time
Merlin moved away from her, she chased after him like a puppy.
Yesterday we cleaned Merlin's cage and put him in her cage whilst we did
it and then afterwards we put them in the big cage together. They had
some playtime on the carpet yesterday evening also, though they slept in
separate cages and are seperated today whilst we are at work.
We will put them together in the big cage every evening now till Friday
and let them have playtime and then separate them through the day. All
being well we will put them together permanently on Friday and just keep
and eye on them over next weekend.
The only problem we have is that she is a little monkey when it comes to
food and won't share her food with Merlin. He has to climb into his food
bowl to push her away so he can eat and she doesn't like that and shouts
at him, so he usually backs down and lets her eat. I wouldn't mind but
there are two food bowls in the big cage, one with seed and one with
'nuts for alfredo' which I made up yesterday. We may end up putting two
bowls side by side so they can both eat at the same time and stop any
arguments. She does eat loads though compared to him.
He really loves her though despite her crazy appetite and he is a
totally different bird since she came. He closes his eyes with
contentment when she is preening him, it's so sweet to watch. I will
send you photos in a day or two and keep you up to date. She also fell
asleep in my hands last night!!

Hi Tracy-Ann & Sue
Mouse is getting on really well, and he settled in fine. He
felt a bit car sick after the journey but he was soon exploring his (very)
big cage. On monday i spent all day: cuddling him; feeding him; and giving
him kisses. He likes coming out of his cage and watching eastenders with us,
while eating his food. Mouse is starting to eat his foods such as: seeds;
nuts; fresh fruits; chillies; and everything else that is in his mix. He
likes to pull my earings out and then drop them down the side of the sofa so
that i can't find them and he loves nibbling my ears! These are some pics of
him lieing on his side asleep (unfortunatly missing eastenders) that i think
are adorable. He is sitting on my shoulder as we speak, but i think he is
going to have to say good night now and be put to bed! I will keep you
updated on how he is getting on and hopfully send you some more pics soon.
Thanks again for hand rearing him aspecially for me and will speak to you
soon.

hi Tracy-Ann & Sue
Just a line to let you know the little chap is
absolutely fine - eating well and had a fly
around yesterday (could have been accidental) but
he was fine, just flew across to the hamster cage
and sat on that and came to Anna's finger when
she called him. The hamster probably had a bit of
a fright! He is in his big cage now and enjoying
it. Anna has named him Malakai which apparently
means "my angel" in Hebrew and he seems to have taken well to that name.
So very many thanks for everything. Hope Craig had a safe journey back.
Best wishes
Sam
